Regardless of its origins, the practice of any martial art is still basically an athletic endeavor, in that it requires body movement. As such, martial arts follow similar principles in developing such qualities as skill, speed, co-ordination, etc. The development of these attributes is more important than individual techniques and traditions.A martial artist is therefore an athlete, and just as there are different levels of athletes such as amateurs, semi-professionals and professionals, there are different types of martial artists. There are those who dedicate themselves to the practice of martial arts, there are those who practice for recreation or as a hobby, and there are those who merely wish to keep fit and/or learn some self defense should they ever need it. They are all valid motives for studying a martial art. The methods taught at this school are a modern progressive approach to the fighting arts covering all possible ranges of combat. These include kicking range, punching range, trapping range and grappling range. Comprehensive training is given in all the ranges, both unarmed and with a variety of weapons, so should it be necessary, the student should be able to fit in with any combative situation.Contact us via
